Mokwaledi Gontshwanetse was born in Serowe in 1965. From 1985 to 1987 he had a studio in the newly established Khama III Memorial Museum in Serowe, and, after a short period in Gaborone, he returned to the Museum with a job to build up the exhibitions programme. A vital part of the Museum’s new exhibitions are his paintings and drawings depicting the traditional as well as modern life of Botswana. Mokwaledi is currently studying at the Mzilikazi Art and Craft Centre in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe. He has exhibited in Botswana, Canada, New Zealand and Denmark.
