Fatma Shaaban Abdullah

Fatma Shaaban Abdullah was born in Zanzibar in 1939. She studied Fine Art and Education at Makerere University, Uganda, and has a Postgraduate Diploma and MPhil degree from the City University, London. A former Director of the Department of Arts and Museums, Ministry of lnformation, Culture and Sports, Zanzibar, she is now a Minister Counsellor in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Tanzania. She has also researched and produced an exhibition of kanga textiles from Tanzania, which has toured worldwide, and she has exhibited her paintings in Uganda, Nigeria, West Germany, Britain and the United States.
