Paul Machowani

Paul Machowani was born in Zimbabwe, the son of a welder. He worked as a blacksmith and now lives and works in a small remote township, producing sculptures from scrap metal taken from old cars. A self-taught artist, he has exhibited his work since 1981 in Zimbabwe and won an award of distinction in the Baringa Nedlaw exhibition at the National Gallery of Zimbabwe in 1988.
