John Muafangejo

John Muafangejo was born at Kwanyama in 1943 in southern Angola, near the border with Namibia, and lived a rural life with his family up to the age of 12. After a mission school education in Odibo, Namibia, he attended the Ecumenical Lutheran Church art and crafts centre at Rorke’s Drift in Natal for two years. From 1970 to 1974 he was an art teacher in Odibo and then returned to Rorke’s Drift as a resident artist. He moved to Windhoek in 1977 and died of pneumonia in 1987.
