Ken Sprague designed the first book cover for the Journeyman Press in 1974. This was for The Iron Heel by Jack London, and to a great extent Ken influenced the direction Journeyman would take in its first few years. This was followed by two more Jack London titles. About the same time, Ken was working with the authors Nigel Gray and David Craig to produce two books of poems, Come Close and Latest News, both of which were published by Journeyman in 1978.

The Iron Heel by Jack London, first published in 1907 and reprinted by Journeyman as a hardback and paperback in 1974, 1975, and with a Foreword in 1976, 1977, 1978, 1980.

The People of the Abyss by Jack London, first published in 1903 and reprinted by Journeyman as a trade paperback with an Introduction by Jack Lindsay, 1977, as a paperback the same size as The Iron Heel, 1978, 1980, 1981.

Revolution: Stories and Essays by Jack London, selected and introduced by Robert Barltrop, first published by Journeyman, 1979, 1984.

Design by Ken Sprague in 1975 for a slipcase edition of the three Jack London titles published by Journeyman.

Latest News: Poems by David Craig, with linocuts by Ken Sprague, published in a paperback edition by Journeyman, 1978.

Come Close: Poems by Nigel Gray, with linocuts by Ken Sprague, published in a paperback edition by Journeyman, 1978.
